The city of Barcelona is one of the world’s cities where couples weekend getaways can be an unforgettable experience. In the following lines we propose some ideas to enjoy your getaway in Barcelona with your partner.

Barcelona is a big city and offers an endless number of attractions and monuments that just will not give you time to see them in one weekend, for it we will focus this tour to visit to the most charming places of the city, where we can discover a part of Barcelona that will make us think back to visit it completely.

Arrival day:

After arriving to our hotel in Barcelona, rest of the day could be short to see lots of monuments. But it is a good time to walk around the bohemian part of the city and enjoy a nice evening, quiet and without a doubt will love our partner.

So we take the meter and headed to the Born district, a neighborhood that during the day is a good place to shopping but at night is transformed completely and becomes a bohemian destrict, which several places where you can take good beers and tapas.

Saturday morning:

We will use this morning to see, especially, the lovely buildings with modernist style of Barcelona that most of them are located on Passeig de Gracia.

We start our adventure in the Eixample district, we will find the Casa Mila, more commonly known as La Pedrera, where you can enjoy one of the best views of the city. After this stop, we continue our tour towards one of the stops obligated of Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia.

Among other things we can look at the Passeig de Gracia during the morning of this first day would be:

  • La Casa Amatller
  • La Casa Batlló
  • La Casa Lleó Morera
  • Casa Fuster
  • Cinc D´oros
  • Palau Robert
  • Farolas Modernistas

We can also use the occasion to visit the luxury boutiques that are in this area. The Passeig de Gracia is one of the best places to go shopping in Barcelona.

At the end of Passeig we find the famous Mercat de Santa Caterina, the first covered market in the city, where we can admire a spectacular vanguardist roof. In this market there are a lot of restaurants where you can have lunch, like the Cuines, the Senyor Perellada, Ca l’Isidre or Shunka.

Saturday afternoon:

After lunch and a good break, we transfer to the Gothic Quarter where we will discover the medieval and Roman Barcelona, here we find the famous Cathedral of Barcelona, after this visit we continue walking and enjoying this ancient district.

To finish the day, and before returning to our hotel, we can walk and go shopping in the Born district or have some tapas.

Sunday morning:

The morning that we remain in the city of Barcelona, we can use to enjoy the coastal part of the city, we can take a ride with the Golondrina (Tourboat), if we have more time we can do a bike tour along the boardwalk .

If you have more time in Barcelona there are many other landmarks of the city that you can visit including:

  • El castillo de Montjuïc
  • El Xalet
  • Plaza de España
  • Plaza de Catalunya
  • Fundación Joan Miró
  • El museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña

If you prefer before returning to your hotel in Barcelona, you can sit at one of the restaurants to take something by the sea.
