In the previous edition of ebooking, we talked about the main attractions of the old quarter of Prague. In this new edition will do a small tour arround the main attracions in Hradcany, the zone of the Castles in Prague located on the left of the river Moldova, a must visit for any visitor to the city.
Some of the strengths and attractions that we can find in Hradcany are:
The Prague Castle:
It was built in the ninth century, is the biggest medieval fortress in the world and one of the most impressive monuments in the Czech Republic. The castle in itself is a small village with beautiful and picturesque alleys, buildings and palaces. This castle has many attractions we can see:
- St. Vitus Cathedral
- Gold Alley
- Old Royal Palace
- St. George’s Basilica
- The different towers of the castle.
This castle has been the residence of the royal family and the nobility for a long time, from ebooking we recommend to dedicate one day to enjoy its beauty.
St. Vitus Cathedral (Chrám Svatého Víta):
It is located inside the beautiful Castle of Prague, is the biggest gothic monument of the city, the construction of this spectacular work of art has taken about six centuries to be completed.
The Loreto (Loreta):
Of the main pilgrimage sites of the country, its construction dates back to 1626. is one of the most spectacular places that exist in the city, here we see:
- the House of Virgin Mary
- the Church of the Nativity
Strahov Monastery (Strahovský klášter):
was founded around 1143 and once belonged to the order of the Mostensesalong its history has been reformed many times. The interiors of this monastery is spectacular and has several designated areas to the public, like the Library, an art gallery, among others.
