Travel in Cambodia – Angkor Wat

One of the attractions visitors of the area of the world, which deserves to travel in Cambodia is Angkor Wat. Even if the target is far away for many, this travel, you will not forget.

Somewhere far away, in middle Indo-China is one of the most remarkable architectural treasures of mankind. Perhaps the largest religious complex in the world, Angkor Thom Cambodian jungle brings together more than a hundred temples, among which the most important is the one who gave his name to the entire complex – Angkor Wat.

Spread over a huge area, Angkor was the capital of Khmer empire, one of the most developed and large states in the past millennium. Cambodian state but there is about the time of Christ, local culture and religion are strongly influenced by Indian culture – were the first kings of the Indian Brahmins who brought Hinduism and Buddhism, now most people are Buddhists. To visit the Angkor complex, is required to have a means of transport – you can rent everything from bicycle and motorcycle limousine, but the bike except you have to “rent” and the driver.

In the complex there are two types of temple – Hindu temple – temple mountain type, which evokes Mount Meru, the mountain sacred to the Hindus, dwelling of the gods and Buddhist temples – type gallery, passing through a saraband rooms. No temple but not like each other, so although you can visit a dozen, always find something new.

In Siem Reap, the best choice is the guest’s house where a room revolves around the 15 to 20 dollars (including breakfast where delicious pancakes with banana and honey are a delight), but you can sit and in one of immature hotels. What is remarkable, however, in Siem Reap is not allowed to build any building taller than the tower of Angkor Wat, so that even 5-star hotels offer a typical Khmer architecture and are not hosted in any block tasteless.

Yut is a professional, eyjanoble, and a knowledgable guide for all of the temples in and around Siem Reap. I spent two days with him in July. He possess a deep knowledge of the religious traditions and iconography of the temples, knows the great places to take pictures, understands and communicates the history, and is simply a joy to spend time with. I give him the highest possible recommendation as a tour guide. When i return there, I will hire him again.
