Whether by its popular markets or its the latest fashion shops, it is said that London is the best city in the world for shoppers and is one of the favorite cities for shopping lovers. Contrary to what one might think, you can find great deals on items like clothing or electronics.

In London you can find both large shopping centers as markets and real luxury stores, we propose some of the best places to enjoy a day of shopping in this city:

  • Oxford Street: probably the most important shopping street in London, in Oxford Street you can find from small boutiques to large department stores.

  • Govent Garden: both inside the covered market as in surrounding streets will find souvenir shops, clothing, accessories. It is one of the most vibrant London´s areas.

  • Knightsbridge: it is a shopping area where there are some of the most famous department stores in the world, like Harrods and Harvey Nichols.

  • Bond Street: the ideal place for those looking for luxury shops. Channel, Armani and Versace are some of designers who have been transcribed into Bond Street.

  • Regent Street: plenty of trendy shops, Regent Street is one of the main shopping streets of London. It also worth seeing the Hamleys toy store, a paradise for children and adults that is only comparable with the FAO Schwartz toy store in New York.

London is also characterized by its classical markets with a lively atmosphere typical of the markets and where you can find from the best opportunities to the latest fashion. These are some of the most famous markets in London:

  • Old Spitaldields Market: It is one of the London markets, began its activity in 1682. Is reputed to have good ecological fruit and high quality food. It is also known for its vintage style clothing shops, ethnic and DIY stores, crafts and latest fashion clothing. The market, though, is not the cheapest.

  • Perricoat Lane Market: It is a lively market with massive movement. Here is sold mostly clothing of all kinds and you can find some good prices. is also sold electronic goods, books, jewelery, preserves, etc…

  • Portobello Market: probably it is London´s biggest and fanous market, in Portobello is possible to find a great variety of items, among them antiques, coins, watches, furniture, stamps and jewelry are some of the most popular objects.

  • Camden Town: Due to its peculiar residents, the majority of the local are Gothic clothing shops, tattoos and piercings, but inside the market you can find more interesting things for all audiences. In the building of the square of the food stalls there are many shops and stalls with curious objects. The best day to visit the Camden Market is Sunday.

  • Brick Lane Market: is a colorful street market and is the right place to buy second-hand furniture and art at a good price, out of print magazines, vintage clothing, kitchens, sweets, electronics, bicycles, Bengali clothing and practically anything you can imagine.
