A XXX Olympic Games will be held in London, United Kingdom, from July 27 to August 12, 2012. London will become the first city in modern history that organizes the Summer Olympics for the third time, after those of 1908 and 1948.

Organizing the opening ceremony was assigned director Danny Boyle. On March 14, 2011, during the 500 days left until the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics, organizers together with Omega (company stopwatch timed the Olympics) have launched a countdown clock in Trafalgar Square, London. In February of 2012, confirmed that the opening ceremony will be held by Queen Elizabeth II and Duke of Edinburgh.
On June 27, 2012 announced that the Olympic anthem for 2012 Summer Olympics will be the song the band Muse, Survival. Daily newspaper Daily Mirror made a speculation as that Coldplay with Damon Albarn could help hymn composition. On stage the opening ceremony of 2012 Summer Olympics, could climb Muse, Coldplay, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
