Cannes is one of the famous destinations of the French Riviera, known mainly due to the film festival that takes place here every year. It is a resort known for high quality services they offer tourists and is renowned for its fine sand beaches and five star hotels located on the Croisette pier for luxury shopping and beautiful scenery.
Cannes has a long history, from Roman times. Originally a small fishing village to village fame skyrocketed after Lord Brougham, Lord Chancellor of England (1830-1834) was forced to spend some time in Cannes. Place he liked so much that he built a house and remained in place since 34 years until he died. Lord let foggy winters in England in exchange Mediterranean sunny weather. Festival Palace is located on the Croisette embankment near the old port. Palace is near the major hotels Miramar, Martinez, Carlton.
The climate is Mediterranean. Summers are long and warm (May to September), reaching temperature usually 30 degrees Celsius. Summer average temperature is 25 degrees Celsius. Despite the higher temperatures during the day, evenings are cool because sea breeze. Winters (December to February) are mild. Temperatures rarely drop below 10 degrees Celsius.
Travel made in Cannes must not include festivals that occur only here. Sand beaches attract many tourists every year. A travel to Cannes is culture, relaxation and fun.
